OEM Hood Protector Cracking

Hi Highlanders,

Need some advice on what to do.. I purchased an OEM hood protector a month ago and just recently installed it. While I was putting the protector onto the hinges I noticed that the pre-drilled holes on the protector did not align 100% to the hinges holes/screws forcing me to bend it a bit.. A week later I noticed that one of the holes on the protector where the screw and the hinge met cracked and broked off. It was still held on by the other screws so it didn't fly off but I also noticed that other parts of the protector starting to crack where the screw and hinge is.. I don't think I screwed the screw too tight.. What should I do? Do you think I can get a warranty due to defective part.. if so how do I proceed to do this.. should I contact the place I bought it from or should I call Toyota directly.. Or should I just suck it up and buy another one.. Anyone have this same experience?

PS.. I followed the installation instructions to a tee and did not install the hinges incorrectly.

Thanks!

I would remove the hood protector and return it to where you bought it and either ask for a replacement or just return it. After all, it was defective
