Water pump gone at 41,000, 24 hours labor!

Our '08 with 41,000 was loud at idle, had it checked out and the water pump is going. Still under warranty thankfully but the book says 24 hours labor as you almost have to remove the engine to fix it. Glad I'm not footing the bill for this one, funky design the way the pump is shaped which requires a lot of labor to remove. Be interesting to see how long our dealer takes to fix it.

Sad to hear. The water pump on my '07 Camry went out at 38K. But it wasn't a 24 hour job and it was still covered under the 5year/60K engine warranty.

Well, dropped the vehicle off for the day, they fixed 3 recalls AND the water pump! I'm very surprised & pleased with this outcome. They billed 7.1 hours for the pump but all was covered under 5/60,000. They said they accessed the pump though the wheel well, not sure which book my nephew got 24 hours from, all's well that ends well.
