Factory Roof Rack

Hi guys. new to the forum...

My mom has a an 08 or 09 Highlander, it has the factory rails, but not the cross bars.

I recently saw on ebay the 01-07 crossbars for sale for about 50$ + shipping...

does the 07 cross bars fit into the 08-09 models?

If it does, it'd save me a lot of money.

Please advise.

1 - they won't work due to different size of the cars
2 - NEW OEM style and equal quality crossbars are only $90 including shipping.

to the Highlander forum. As Yazon pointed out the 2nd generation HL is wider (75.2") compared to the first (71.9"). I had an '06 and I believe they are also a little different but I cannot recall for sure. Good luck!

i kinda jumped the gun ordering the 01-07 crossbar from ebay. I have't paid yet, and I've asked the ebay seller if I can retract.

I posted the question in hoping that it would have worked. Guess it's not going to, and I might just have to bite the bullet and take a non-paying claim against me. Yah... I messed up for not doing a thorough research first.
