Poor FM reception

I recently purchased a 2010 SE for my wife. She's real happy with the vehicle except for the FM reception. One of her favorite stations seems to be just out of range of the highlander however its fine on our other cars. Anyone know of a way to improve the FM reception?

BTW, I searched the forums and saw a few people with the same complaint but no real solution.

There is a solution, but not from Toyota. Call the local audio shops and see if they have any FM signal "boosters" or amplifiers. It is basically an in-line amplifier they will "boost" the signal level feed to the radio. The link below will take you to the Crutchfield offering so you can get an idea of what they do...

FM Signal Amplifier

Wasn't there a thread about a year ago where someone swapped out the exterior antenna for an aftermarket one that improved radio reception? I don't have time to search, but I would have sworn someone did that.
