Hot power socket

Hey everyone. I am new to the forum with my first Toyota. I have the new 2010 Highlander. I love it except for 1 thing. That the power outlets arent always hot. Is there a mod I can do to get them hot without the ignition on? Specifically 1 in the front dash and the one in the back. I dont want to tap into an always hot live wire and risk having the car shut down without researching it.
Thanks

Here is a past thread that offers some suggestions about a hot socket, and this thread as well offers one members solution.

BTW, to TN, and congratulations too on your new Highlander!

Partial Solution

Good choice in asking first. The relay mod that works on other Toyota makes/models is dicey with the Highlander. The Highlander relay that activates the front 12V sockets also powers other things ( per the wiring diagram).

PM me with your e-mail address and I can give you some insight on the quick fuse jumper mod I did to get one of the front outlets "hot" on my wife's 2010. Does require probing with a 12v test light and doing one crimp connection.

Rear socket "hot" is not high on my priority list so have nothing new to offer there.

Regards
