My SUV met a deer...

Hi,
Greetings from new HL 2010 (unexpected) owner.

Had no plans to buy one, until one not very nice night when my old trusted Forester met a deer.

To make it short - Got HL 2010 and VERY happy.

Can't stop thinking about deer protection (well, not deer protection, truck protection from deers - you know what I mean).

Any recommendations?

Hello there, and welcome to TN and the Highlander forums!

I guess you could try mounting a bull bar on the front of your HL, but you'd probably have to go to a custom rig in order to stand a chance of not incurring damage from at least a fawn or very small doe. There have been a couple members here who have had bull bars installed and hit something and ended up with lots of damage, but bull bars are often more for show than anything else.

The bull bar will get destroyed too. Most are cosmetic bull bars.

Your best bet is to slow down on those dark roads where the suicidal deer hang out.

At night, use your high beams when there is no oncoming traffic. And, keep an eye on the sides of the road.

Take up hunting as a hobby and reduce the deer population. Deer are delicious.
