Question on 2010 HL Climate Control - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

When I have my 2010 HL climate control in AUTO the AC light is always lit, even if the system is trying to warm up the car.

So my question is when this is in AUTO and the AC light is on is the AC really running all the time or does it only kick in when the system is trying to cool down the interior?

AC isn't just for cooling. It will be used to control humidity and as a defogger(reduce moisture/humidity). So, if the light is on, its cycling. I never use Auto!

Yes the AC is running. I use auto all the time. When I don't want the AC going I just tap the AC button to turn the AC off, and the system remains in Auto. Just no AC. As far as I am aware..the HL does not return lower MPG because the AC is running.
