Question 2011 Highlander Bluetooth Phonebook Question

Apologies if this question has been answered before, I couldn't find it, OR if it's in the wrong forum.

On Thursday I picked up my new 2011 Highlander Limited V6 in Magnetic Gray. Sweet ride! I love all the tech features, but I'm having a bit of an issue with one in particular:

I have an iPhone 3G running iOS 4.1. The Highlander will import the contacts from my phone without any issues and they'll stay in memory for a day or two, but then disappear. To complicate matters further, if I add speed dials using contacts, then the speed dials also disappear. It's a pain in the butt to have to re-import the contacts and set up the speed dials. Am I missing something? Is there someway to make the contacts persistant?

If anyone is having the same issue, chime in . . . OR if anyone knows the fix to this, please do let me know.

Thanks!
John

You are lucky, my 2009 will not import the contacts from the Iphone at all, including IOS 4.1.

Did you get the NAV? I don't know if the BT firmware gets updated from the NAV DVD.

Yes, I have navigation . . . it's the 2011 Highlander Limited with Navigation and pretty much everything else with the exception of the rear seat entertainment system. So it will import the contacts just fine, but not keep them for longer than a day or two.

OK, I figured out what causes this, but not how to fix it.

Whenever I do a hard reset of the iPhone the highlander loses the contacts and speed dials. A hard reset is when you hold the home button and the power button down simultaneously until the white Apple logo comes on. When I do this the contacts and speed dials disappear. Unfortunately there is an app on my iPhone I use fairly often that requires a hard reset of the iPhone quite frequently.

Any thoughts?

No ideas, but just some clarification. Is this happening when you do the hard reset and you're nowhere near your HL? Or is it only happening when you're in the HL and you do the hard reset?

Good point, should have mentioned that it doesn't matter if I'm in the car or away. Both situations will result in contacts & speed dials going poof.
