2011 Nav/Audio unit in 2009?

I have hated my 2009 Nav system from day one. It has been a nightmare, and been replaced 3 times. Discs still get stuck, Bluetooth sounds awful, Nav can't find its way out of a paper bag.

Any ideas if I can obtain the 2011 head unit with Nav and plug and play install?

I like the added BlueTooth music streaming and a few of the more iPhone friendly options.

I have had nothing but trouble with my iPhone 4 and my 2009 unit. BlueTooth sounds like I am at an airport underwater.

You should take a look at the newer Kenwood Navi units, I have a DNX 8120, and it is impressive, yet old.

I have to say that the Kenwood units are about 50,000x better than the crappy Nanny Navs. I have one in another car and is is less than 1/4 the price of the crappy Totyo nav.

That being said, Toyota should warranty your unit. If they can't fix it by the third attempt, perhaps your state's lemon laws might apply. Here in Florida that means you might get a new car or a full refund if you fight enough.

I know on the Hybrid that with all the info the display puts out, it would not be a good idea to do such a swap out.

Toyota should make it right.

2 of my many repairs generated no paperwork. I was not paying attention and they knew what they were doing. I tried for the lemon law and they blatantly lied and said the stereo was serviced once.

On to a new service shop at least.

So I a, still struggling with crappy bluetooth and nanny navigation.

I wish third party solutions worked with RSES and rear camera that are stock. None I have seen work plug and play stock. I loose RSES and/or camera, and other functions.
