USA Viper 5101 Remote Starter on 2009 Highlander

Okay, so I just had a Viper 5101 remote starter installed by Best Buy. When I activate the remote starter, then shut the vehicle off with the remote starter, the lights will not go off when the vehicle lights are set to "auto". The tech at best buy told me that with this system, this is normal. I find that hard to believe. If anyone can enlighten me I would apprecitate it.

Bottom line from my own experience, don't EVER have Best Buy do an installation on your vehicle. First, the tech blew a main fuse. This led to a 3-day installation process. Overall, I think the techs are clueless at the Mishawaka, Indiana, Best Buy store.

Yup, mine does the same thing with my 5901 installed, except I always have my headlights on the ON position. My lights turn off when the driver's door is opened.

You can have the dealer change the settings of how your headlights turn off (the various settings are in your manual), and there may be a solution for you considering you keep your headlight switch in the AUTO position.

Cheers.
