Hey all!
I traded in a 2006 Honda CRV EX. I would have went with a Pilot, but they look like a box on wheels. My wife has a 2009 Rav4 sport w/ apperance package, tow package, V6. I wanted a mid size SUV with a car like ride. I've had a 4Runner Limited. I got the V6 with 3rd row seating and tow package. I added rear all weather mat for dogs. I'm looking at Gentex G21A rear view mirror with temp display.
The Honda never gave me 1 issue. I had to change the rear diff fluid every 20K. The acceleration was like stepping on a rotten tomato.
I love the V6. We will use the roof rack for cargo carrier on the highlander. Also the 4wd will be used as we have a 2nd home in NC.
Currently, I have 3500 miles on it and 1st oil change is 5K. 2 years of Toyota maint. Says 5w30. Should I use synthetic?

Thanks

Not really. Just go with the spec grade and regular but quality oil (any big name brands). Synthetic is good if you go place where you can't change oil as often, but it is not required by any means.
