This newbie needs help with Towing Package.

My 2010 HL LTD was supposed to come with a Towing Package, (includes 5000lb towing capacity, heavy duty radiator with engine cooler, 240-watt fan coupling, transmission oil cooler with water cooler, 150-amp alternator and prewired harness). My question is, how can I be sure this was actually installed? I kind of have my doubts this was included in my option package even though I paid for it.

Hope somebody can help.

Thanks.

One thing you can easily check is the oil filler cap. I believe 2008-2010 models with the towing package use 5w30 oil, and models without the towing package use 5w20 oil. What does your oil cap say?

Look at the build sheet from the factory, match the vins, and whatever it says you should have.

I have a 2010 Base 4wd V6 with tow pkg. I took a picture of the front divers side showing the vent for the transmission cooler. Also, open the fuse box in the engine compartment and look at the fuse box and the ALT fuse should be 140amp.

I see that you are from Vancouver. Seeing as how you are close to the US border, did you buy your HL in Canada or did you go stateside? If you bought it in Canada, while I am not 100% sure of the 2010 models, all 2008 and 2009 models built in Japan and sold in Canada with the 3.5L V6 come standard with the towing prep package. Again, I am not sure if that is still the case with the 2010 and 2011 models, and I am not sure if that changed when they started building them in the US.

I went through the same frustration and confusion when I first purchased my HL.
