So, I brought my car into service to check the heater in the rear and they said that everything was working normally, the way it should be. When I turn on the heater in the rear for the face only, all I get is cold air coming out. Does anyone else have this problem. They said that since the vents were so close to the people's face, they had to limit the heat coming out. The problem is, there is no heat!!

the car has been warmed up and it still blows out cold air. the odd thing is that when i start lowering the temperature, the air starts to get a tad bit warmer as opposed to when the temperature is on max heat and cold air is coming out. i picked up the car today and they said that the brand new 2011 highlanders did not have heat coming out of the back too, but i don't really believe them

2010 SE: my wife just ride in the 2nd row on Monday (23F) for about an hour. I set it to 72F rear and she complained about too much hot air after about 5 minutes.
We did notice that the passenger side face vent comes out hotter than the driver's side. Might check that out and see if it's still cool on that side. We also discovered that if you keep the rear temp dial turned all the way up and turn the temp dial down in the front, it seems to come out even hotter in the back (like it doesn't have to share the heat with the front). Just something for you to check and see if the front temp is having too big an impact on the rear.
