Turning the steering wheel quickly from one direction to another (like backing out of a parking spot where you have it turned far to the right and then turn it quickly far to the left to pull away), well it makes a sound like a dry bearing...or more like a nylon bearing that's noisy (this is probably the best description). Maybe it's plastic rubbing on plastic (steering wheel rubbing on the steering column?)? Basically, it's downright loud and my wife has asked me several times now what it is.
I didn't want to make an extra trip to the dealer for it, so I was wondering if any of you have experienced or are experiencing the same thing?
NOTE: I'm literally talking about the steering wheel you put your hands on. It's not a noise by the power steering or anything in the engine bay. I'm talking about a plastic/nylon rubbing sound when turning the wheel quickly. Turning the wheel slower will make the noise quieter or completely disappear depending on the speed at which I turn it.

I get that, and the only time it happens is when my Highlander is hot, either during the height of summer or after driving on a road trip of a couple hours or more. Usually only hear it when I pull up to my house, turn left in front of my driveway, then turn the wheel right in order to back into my garage. During both turns of the wheel it'll make a "nylon rubbing sound." Mine isn't that loud, but noticeable. I don't consider it a problem myself, just one of those quirks we all find with any vehicle. That's my observation.

I thought I'd read somewhere on here that someone else heard it too. Anyway, it seems exceptionally loud, so I'll probably take it in. Or maybe wait for the next scheduled maintenance...of course, we just had it in for the first one a few weeks ago.
Off topic, I might as well ask one other question. Can the rear wiper washer nozzle be adjusted? Looks to me like it's in a fixed position.

Stopped in and talked with my service adviser at the dealership on my way to parts this morning about the steering wheel noise. He knew what I was talking about but wanted to hear it firsthand to ensure it was normal. Yep, normal. FYI, he's a friend who's always given me accurate information unlike the usual BS everyone gets from other dealerships, so I do trust him.
