I am in fact a new SE owner, I took possesion of my new Toyota on Dec 31st but I have been on this board for for almost 3 years now.
I just wanted to say hello, and mention how much I appreciate the info and feedback you guys all put out on this forum.
I joined when I got my Camry, stayed when I got my Venza and have been reading like a fiend since I ordered my Highlander.
Happy New Years to all my fellow Toyota owners out there and let's have another great year on this forum.
Trail and other admins, my apologies for not having a true question.
I just wanted to openly join this forum.

Not a problem, man! Honestly (and personally), I'm just glad you and so many others have gotten stuff out of this forum. The Highlander forum has always been an enjoyable one to me because the majority of owners post up with great attitudes and lots of good help.

What is the difference in daily driving between Venza and Highlander? I am considering Venza (4cyl) as a second car.
My wife has the i4 venza as our other car and we love it. Interior is great. Very clean and upscale. Visibility is great. Car is just comfortable. 4 cyl works for us. Just quick enough decent gas mileage. Would buy one again in a second. Actually likemit a bit better than out hl.
You know how I know who's truly naughty or nice, Moose? I've got one of these....
Compared to some of TN's other forums you guys hardly peg the meter, but that isn't to say I'm expecting you guys to peg it off the scale....
LOL. You don't spend nearly enough time in the 2nd Gen Tacoma section. I see you over there once in awhile, but Daniel gets most of the fun. I think at times your meter would be off the scale!
I have to agree with you though, this section of the forums is rather tame (since inflection/sarcasm is hard to "read" online, I'll clarify in that I'm not saying it's in a bad way). The audience of the HL is quite different than the Taco.

I know what you mean. I read a lot more than in the Tacoma section than I post. I don't like to pee in any Moderator's pond, so I only step in if something is time critical. I have to say, some of the funniest stuff I've ever read in these forums has come out of the Tacoma forums. Those posts by Bill Brasky a couple of years ago are legendary, too bad he got himself banned....

It would be too soon for me to say which is better, but I do really like my wife's Venza.
I prefer to drive it more than my Camry, it's a very comfy ride but doesn't get quite as good mpg as my Camry, about 22 average with the V6, mixed driving.

I was driving compact sports before, but with two kids it's no longer an option, HL feels a bit bulky and top heavy. It is almost a month since we bought it and I still cant get use to drive it to my comfort, other than in straight lane of course.
Well using that as a reference, yes the Venza will drive much more like a car.
It rides feeling a lot lower to the ground and doesn't have the body roll that the highlander does even though it has good clearance, and still has the AWD available which is what prompted me to start looking at AWD options for my new car.
I almost bought another Venza, but I was looking at leasing this car and the lease rates on the Venza weren't as good, actually they never seem to be, which is why I bought my wife's Venza rather then leasing it.
As for a family vehicle, I think you would like the Venza, I have another child due in less than 3 months and was looking for a safer AWD vehicle for me to drive this time around as well.
The Camry was plenty big enough inside but I got tired of snow plowing with the front end of my SE with the pacific northwest snow storms and wanted something a little bigger this time around.
