Finally got around to doing the install.Used a motorcycle jack to get hitch into position.2011s have scribe lines in plastic panels for cuts.Easy install. Now I just need to figure out how I want to do the 7 pin wiring.
Where did you get the hitch from? Toyota dealer? if so can I ask how much? My 2011 Limited has the towing package installed just no hitch and wiring and I'm more than likely going to be looking to install one once the weather gets a little warmer.
I shopped around online, found the best price and my local dealer matched it.With sales tax it was $410 Could find it cheaper on line but shipping wasnt cheap

Thanks for the reply, so I'm assuming that it came with everything needed for the install like the 4 pin wiring and the new rear plastic fascia? The 7 pin isn't factory and is something you're looking to do on your own right?
It does not come with the wiring, thats additional. It does come with the fascia.I havent decided what route im going to take on the wiring yet.I need the 7 pin/brake controller

I would recommend getting the OEM 4 pin wiring harness and adding the three additional wires and 7 pin plug yourself (or hire someone to do it). The wiring harness comes with the proper convertor. I have heard some people on here that used an aftermarket convertor and had problems (I did with my 2005 Camry). The conversion from a 4 wire to a 7 wire is not that difficult and there is a great description of how to do this in the stickies at the top of this forum. I paid to get mine done because I did not want to bother with it (too busy with everything else in life), and it cost me $170 CAN$ installed, which included the plug for a Tekonsha P3 brake controller (the actual brake controller was extra). You could do it yourself for alot cheaper, because most of that cost was labour.
Good luck.

I have seen the link for the 7 pin installation and have pretty much decided on the Toyota harness.Just trying to decide if I can take it on or not.Newsrv, where did you get the conduit, wire etc?Clear Creek rv? Thanks guys for the input.Wasnt sure if I was going to take on the hitch or not and that was easy.
Thanks for the offer,I would like to see your installation and I never turn down help! Im a couple of weeks away from attempting this, ordering parts now.
Does anyone know if you go with a hitch other than Toyotas, does the hitch have the same fitment? Does it go below the bumper not requiring you to remove the fascia and replace or would you still have to remove the bottom of the rear fascia?

Yes, it goes below the bumper, and therefore does not require the fascia. That being said, this puts it a few inches closer to the ground, and could lead to dragging while towing in some campgrounds or up some steep driveways or roadways. It also, in my opinion, does not look as good as the OEM hitch, being so low to the ground.
