2011 HL Limited JBL DNX9140 Scosche TA07SR

Hi,
I have a 2011 HL limited with JBL no Navi. I replaced my HU with a Kenwood DNX9140 and used Scosche TA07SR to retain my factory amp. I have it working somewhat. My issue is that the front speakers comes on and off randomly. One min. its working fine the next it goes silent. Has anybody seen or read about this issue?

I'm thinking about replacing Scosche TA07SR with a Metra TYTO-01 instead. But want to check the forum first. Anyone?

Thanks.

Sounds like a connection problem, recheck maybe a wire is loose or wasn't crimped tight enough or it could be that the amp is overloading to the front channel might have to adjust some settings on the HU

I did adjust my dnx9140 HU and still doing the same. I'm thinking maybe i have to put back the OEM HU and make adjustments there. I'll check my connections while im at it.

thanks for the input.

i want to update the forum just in case you run into the same issue... turns out the problem is Scosche TA07SR. i replaced it with Metra TYTO-01 and everything works fine now. Metra also has better reviews than scosche.

Also the PAC-SWI steering wheel control on a 2011 HL SE does not work properly. I replaced it with Metra Axxess ASWC. this thing works like a charm and it has an auto learn feature - plug n play.

Hope this helps.

Any pictures?

Thanks for the information on installing the Metra aftermarket kits. Any chance you have a picture of the final installation? I am curious on what the Metra faceplate looks like installed.

I just purchased a new 2011 Highlander Limited with no nav and am trying to decide between an in-dash gps unit or just going the portable route.

Thanks!

Sure. I'm out on a trip I'll post them when I return.

Though it's a bit more money I think having double din is much cleaner look oem feel and no wires to see.
