Projector Led/Halo headlights installed with pics

So I got one of those ebay black housing projector headlights. It's not bad if you are looking for something unique for your HL. I won't be doing a write-up on this but am posting most of the step by step pictures. For the members who are also thinking of doing this, enjoy the pics.

-L/H beams is plug and play to the OEM plug. The projector headlight plug splits our bi-H/L into H7 - low and H1 - high
-You will need to tap the LED and Halo (pre-wired) to the parking light so it's kinda optional. It actually looks pretty decent in person so I kept them and plus you need some sort of a parking light.
-The H7 halogen low beam actually looks okay with the projectors but i had an extra set of H7 HID-6000k laying around so I just threw them in there.

I will post more pics of the entire car later. Feel free to ask me any questions here or PM me.

testing low

testing high

testing led + halo

headlight on with halogen

inside the headlight

installing H7 HID - 6000k

Low HID

not the greatest cut off but much better than the stock housing if you are using HID

here we go again.. almost there

Done ~

Good job...looks great. Any reason you chose the black surround rather than the chrome surround? It would be great to see some pics of the front of your HL from a bit of a distance while outside, with lights off and lights on.

those look better on a highlander than i thought they would. Nicely done. Thats weird the cutoff has a dim spot in the center (where you want the most light) and all the light on the outside edge of the cutoff... oh well, still nice install

will take better pics on the weekend and post them...

yea, I wasn't expecting a good cut off from these headlights. I got them mainly because of the black housing to add to the stealth look. The cut off would be better if I didnt use HID. The hid bulb didn't sit the way it should. I adjusted the headlights, the output is better than before and i made sure it doesn't bug the oncoming traffic. So it's ok for now.

Already added a link to this DIY in the Modifications section of the Mods & Maintenance sticky. Also changed the structure of that sticky around too. Thanks for the time and effort, sanf!

I wonder what the led's would look like if they could be set to cycle off and on. Do a sequential thing like moving from outside to inside. Like a scowl or something. Hope you get my meaning. Like the xmas chasing lights you see.

haha.. forget that knight rider stuff. this is as far as i would go. it's probably already at the border line of ricing a highlander. i am only in for the black housing. maybe i will disconnect those led/angle eyes later if they bug me enough.

anyway. here's a better pic of the entire car with the projector headlights.

so how would you rate this on ease of install? very involved? difficult or not too bad? I'm thinking about making the same purchase, but don't know if I should attempt the install myself or take it to someone.

also, can you post the link to the auction or to a similar auction with the same seller?

thanks!
