Angry 2011 HL SE Radio Illumination

I've searched the site & can't find any info re my problem. The illumination on our new 2011 HL SE's radio screen(Type B or C, per the manual) is so dim that it can't be read if the running or headlites are turned on unless fully dark outside, even if the "wheel" control f/the dash lites intensity is dialed all the way up. Is there any way to further increase the brightness? Thanks in advance.

My guess is you have a problem with your radio or lighting control. While I wouldn't call the display ultra-bright, the radio in my '11 SE is very easy to read regardless of ambient light or headlight status.

Wink Problem Gone

Had to take the HL in to the dealer to have mudguards installed, & while there I asked about my radio illumination problem. Turns out, it's (partially) my own fault. I hadn't noticed that there's an "automatic" setting on the lighting control stalk. When it's used, the illumination adjusts, oddly enough, automatically, even with the headlights on in daylight. Live & learn.
