I know there are a number of threads on tires, but I wanted to get a feel for what people are using (after the stock ones go) both size and brand. I have the sport with the 19" tires and was quoted around $1300 for a set of 4 (not entirely sure i said the the right size but still I know they are spendy. The tires are a les schwab models proxy's and I don't mind if I have to spend some money on them, but that is a little high for me.
I know that some people here are using 255's so my question is, What are you running and what did they cost you? How are they holding up? How do they perform?
Thanks for the info, luckily I have a few months or more before I'm due, but I need to start saving if they are gonna run $1300.

Costco has Bridgestone duelers for $800 plus tax, installation, disposal, rotation and balancing included with $70 off promotion.
Toyo Open Country HT 255/55/19 Great tire on dry and wet. Very Good in snow. Low road noise. 2 years old and wearing well (Meaning holding up well). About $950.00 for a set of 4.

Toyo Open Country HT's - as mentioned above - don't use 'em in winter though.
Was going to by the Bridgestone Alenza's from Costco in the 255 size but they were backordered.

are those the same as the stock duelers? I have those now and they don't seem to hold up as long as I would have liked. I will likely only get 20K out of them. I'm hoping to get something that will last a bit longer. Will look into them though, thanks

Stock is Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400.
Those that have upgraded including myself went with a 255/55/19 Bridgestone Dueler Alenza. One of the best tires I've ever had the pleasure of owning. Never thought I would say that about Bridgestone.
Just got my car and using stock Toyo. I did ask my local costco and they said they had both Bridgestone Dueler 400 and the 422. I was looking for the 422 but couldn't find that much info on it.

That price is for the stock one. I have duelers too on mine. I put 10K on them and they are like almost new. I like them so far. They are also good in winter time. Didn't have any problems on snow with mine. I think it is a good deal for that price.

I have the stock ones on mine still and have about 17K on the car and they have seemed to go downhill fast, I'm sure I can get up to 25K on them, but just looking ahead.
I had a horrible time in the snow with them, even ran my Highlander in the ditch and did a ton of damage. It was on a downhill on ice so I decided to get snow tires (and wheels) for next year. I'm hoping to upgrade to something a little better and will look into the Dueler Alenza if I can find them around me. Sadly I don't have a ton of choices since the closest place is a les schwab, but I can try to look around.
Anybody ave a range on price for the Dueler Alenza?

Toyo Versado CUV bought with credit from Toyo Canada for my A20s. Only have 200 miles on them, so hard to tell, but so far so good. Certainly much quieter than my winters, but not a fair comparison. I would say as quiet as the A20s and a nice ride.
EDIT: stock size, price is difficult because I only paid differential

I saw that new BS tire as well. Looks ok, but I think it comes in under the quality of the stock one (based on price anyways). Hard to say till people get miles on them.
Thanks for all the input, it helps me decide. Luckily I have a lot of time to figure things out.

I just purchased Bridgestone Dueler Alenza HL's in P255/55R19. Couldn't find them in the Nashville area, so I ordered them from Tire Rack. Cost $952 less a $100 rebate from Bridgestone during April, plus $90 installation and balancing at the local Goodyear dealer where Tire Rack shipped them. I was nervous about ordering tires online, but it worked like a charm. I can't say how they handle; I've had them for only 3 days. They do seem a little choppy for the first 10 miles or so until they warm up, like they have a flat spot. Has anybody else ever noticed this on Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas?
As soon as these brand new 19 inchers wear out in about 20K miles on my '11, I'm buying 17" rims and getting tires meant for a LUXURY VEHICLE! I paid $40K+ for a luxury model and I ended up with ride that's hard as stone. I can feel every friggen bump in the road. Nothing like low profile performance tires to ruin a nice drive.
< Sorry to rag, but these tires really push my button.> So my advice? Anything other than 19 inch tires.

I've had my 255/55/R19 Alenzas for over 18,000 miles on my AWD 2008 Highlander Sport. I'm pleased with their overall performance and they have already lasted as long as the OEM Toyo Open Country A20tires. Every indication is that the Bridgestone Alenzas tires will exceed 50K miles service.
After installation, I also noticed, as Bonzo did, that the Alenzas do seem to have flat spots before warming up. But I do not notice it these days. The Alenza apparently have stiffer sidewalls than the Toyos so flat spots can likely be attributed to this factor. I'm very happy with these tires.
