Bluetooth speaker volume

I own both a 2011 Highlander and 2011 Camry (I guess I like Toyota's ). Anyway, I use the hands free Bluetooth in both vehicles and when I'm using the system it can sometimes be hard to hear what the other person is saying. Especially in the Camry. Is there a way to increase the volume? Turning up the main volume nob has no effect, which I think is a bit weird. Any suggestions?

Are you sure? I turn the main volume up WHILE having a phone conversation, and the volume goes up.

Otherwise, try this:
With voice commands, go to
1) Setup
2) System Setup
3) Guidance Volume
4) Then you can adjust the main system volume.

I have never used the main volume knob, but the steering wheels volume controls I know work while on a call in both vehicles, so it would make sense that the knob should too.

Thanks, the steering wheel volume control did the trick. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that. Pin a big duh on my forehead.

Great, glad to hear I was able to help out.
Sometimes it's the little things you just wouldn't think to try.
Nice thing about it is, you can adjust the volume without looking over at the radio while you are driving.

Guidance Volume

I ajdusted the volume in our 2011 Corolla last week, thinking I was adjusting the actual caller volume. Not even sure how I got to it, but I did. It turns out I adjusted the guidance volume....so we can barely hear the bluetooth directions now, even when we're sitting still. Can't hear them at all when driving.

I tried to follow the directions in the book about a hundred times now but they don't match what I'm seeing in the car. I get the 'Setup' option, but I don't get a 'System Setup' option. I get a 'Bluetooth System Setup' for audio. Not what I want.
We don't have any audio players hooked up so that doesn't help me.

How do I get to the 'System Setup'? I had to have been there before when I adjusted the volume last week....but can't find it anywhere now. I've tried syncing different phones, having no phone synced, etc. I'm really really frustrated.......

Usually the volume only adjusts while you're in a call or while the directions are being spoken.
