Buying used HL - purchase extended warranty too?

Going to buy 2008 HL base V6 with 4WD and 29k miles.

Should I buy the Toyota extended warranty for $1350?

Dealer says this extra warranty covers everything...everything for 4 more years or 100K miles.

Should I buy this?

not sure how much you are paying for the car itself but adding another $1300 for warranty, you may as well get the 2011 base V6 AWD.

If you purchase the 08 Base at a fair price and decide to purchase an extended warranty, search this forum for the thread on Extended warranties-what others are paying.

You can purchase that same Toyota warranty through Jerry Johnson and save about 40% compared to your Toyota dealer. It is the same warranty.

My recollection of the requirements are that to purchase the extended warranty from Toyota the vehicle must still be covered under the original mfg warranty.

Just my Op. Extended warranties are a complete waste of money. I have never owned one, and never needed one. Buy the car, and take that $1k or so and go on vacation...
