USA Fog Light Bulb Wattage ?

Looking to replace my fog light bulbs. Does anyone know what the stock wattage is. I don't want to have to upgrade the wiring harness, so I'd like to replace with same wattage. Currently looking at Yellow Hoen bulbs.

You would think the wattage would be easy to find on the internet.

the stock fogs are the good old fashion 55 watt halogen H11. Stock wiring should be handle things above that (but not much higher, wires are a bit thin going to the fogs)

I picked up a set of Hoen Yellow fog light bulbs. Now I'm trying to figure out how to access the rear of the fog lamp. No results on Google/youtube, or in the search function here. Anyone know the easiest way to get at them to change out the bulbs ?

Thanks.

Chances are you can reach it easily from underneath. If not, you may have to remove all this stuff:

It is a MAJOR PIA to get to those pesky bulbs (I've done it many times retrofitting my fog lights) You have to go through the wheel well. You basically have to remove the front wheel well liner half way to get access. I have a hard time explaining where the bolts are so take a look at this on how remove the wheel liner. http://www.mediafire.com/?cph1505spkqvbyb
you DO NOT have to do every step, otherwise it becomes a major pia.
For driver side:
Basically do step 7B. Now on 7E you see a TON of screws and plastic clips. Basically only remove those in front of the front half of the tire. There are 3 screws under the car, and 2 plastic clips in the wheel well.
for passenger side:
Do step 8B and same thing like driver side do 8E, but only the 2 plastic clips on th efront half of the wheel well, and the two screws under the car.

Now for what the instructions DONT say.
There are 2 more things that need to be removed under the car on each side. There is a 10 mm bolt under the car that needs to be removed. It is about 8 inches inside the edge of the bumper. There is also one more plastic clip around there as well.
If you do not remove these you can't do the next step as they will prevent the liner from coming out.
You will have to pull that plastic wheel liner back toward the tire. There are clips (where u unscrewed the screws from) on the front under the car that hold it to the bumper, just slide it back and down. Also pay attention to how the liner goes under some parts of the air dam (same material as the liner) on the front, under the car, make sure to get it back the right way.

You should be able to get your arm in between the edge of the bumper and liner/tire to reach the fog light. If you can't remove the screw shown at 7A and 8A and the bumper should be able to be moved away from the car to provide more space.

Just reverse the process to put it back together.

Unfortunately I winged it first time I replaced some fog lights and broke some plastic clip in the wheel well, so I think i got them all, but I could have missed 1 (doubt it)

BTW while you have access to the back of fogs, try to aim them (screw on back) my factory fogs were aimed WAY off... Here is how: (http://www.mediafire.com/?j75fjii0j8rjo0q)

If anything doesn't make sense let me know, I'll try to help

Patrick

EDIT: I found this on my computer. This was when I was retrofitting my fogs.
You DO NOT have to take the tire off to change the bulb, but I needed more room to work so it came off haha. The pic is meant to show how the wheel liner comes off to kinda put a image to the what you have to do.

Wow...Thanks SweeneyP..

Lol...and here I thought no biggie....

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. ..I really appreciate the help.
I'm at least glad I didn't skimp on the bulbs. I bought the Hoen endurance 11 yellow bulbs because I wouldn't have to upgrade the harness. The thinking at the time was to make this as easy as possible...

I sure hope they last. Thanks again.

Yea its definitely a pain in the ***, but I've done it so many times now, I can get it off on each side in 5 min so it does get easier with time. The first time you just gotta be careful on how the liner goes back on the car. Thats why I got the HID's and retrofited them, got the extra brightness and it would last almost the life of the vehicle.
good luck
Patrick

Oh trust me I know, I didn't have a jackstand at that time, and i was to the side of the car, never under it. I don't trust those dinky little jacks.
