what does the exhaust note sound like on the '11 highlander v6

Hello,

I am considering a 2011 model with a v6 engine and AWD. I am looking at both an SE and Limited model.Upon light AND heavy acceleration, how would you characterize the exhaust note? Is it refined and whisper quiet or as another user had mentioned on this forum, "sport" or "throaty"?The inifiniti SUVs(ex/fx) tend to sound "sporty", almost growling upon light AND heavy acceleration. By contrast, the Honda Pilot sounds quiet and refined like a honda accord.

Any noise form the exhaust when driving is eliminated by the engine noise under heavy acceleration. There is no exhaust pipe noise under light acceleration.....

What he said. I would describe the exhaust note as "heavily muffled". I hear the engine, which is not that unpleasant, and no real exhaust noise at all. With the windows down you can notice it a little but it is only offensive if you want it to sound like a Chevy with a borla exhaust or something.

The Highlander gets lots of criticism for being bland, and that is how I would describe the exhaust note, but I kind of like the does-everything-quietly-well blandness of my car.

I never even would call my V6 anything that resembles an exhaust note. On the other hand, I own the G-35 coupe. I'd say bar none, it is the best sounding car on the road. The HL does not even get a rating in my book for having a note. Same engine more or less in the FX35 but not as pronounced in sound as this.

Here is a stock G35 note.
