What do Highlanders eat?
Apparently they have a healthy appetite for rubber.. (or at least mine does)
I bought my Highlander the beginning of March 2009, didn't use winter tires that winter.. put 13k on the Toyo's that came with it and then purchased a set of Blizzak's and 17" rims. Come spring, I decided to cut my losses and purchase new tires then instead of halfway through the summer. I purchased Dualers and I've been happy with them so far. My Blizzaks held up pretty good, I got 2 winters out of them but I noticed this winter the front 2 tires were wearing quite a bit on the outer side (alignment problem, although I just had it aligned before the winters went on). I figured it would be better save the rear 2 and just trash the front tires instead of having 4 abnormally worn winter tires for next year.. the Blizzaks from the rear look like new and well the front tires..
My first Highlander came with Michelin Integrity tires (not sure if they were factory because it was a dealer demo) they were the best tires I've ever had in terms of wear. I used winters every year and one year I drove year-round with a set of winters on because they were garbage that I payed a lot of money for and I wanted to get my moneys worth out of them. Anyway, sold the Highlander with 135k~ on it and although it had a brand new set of winters on, the new owner didn't hesitate to take the Integrity's that I had originally came on the Highlander. I never had an alignment problem with that car, all the tires wore perfectly.
I wish Michelin would come out with some 19" tires for us, it's been over 3 years since the Highlander was introduced.. let us have something
