ipod scrubbing possible? ('11 HL)

ok...don't have ready access to the manual right now, but this bugs me

i get podcasts from the internet and put them on my ipod. 2 hour programs with some commercial interrupts...ipod is connected to HL so i can listen to songs, switch to next/last song...etc.

BUT

can i actually 'scrub' through a song/podcast via the HL? i want to fast forward through commercials. tried in HL, no luck. i don't want to look down while driving to 'scrub'/fast forward on the ipod as it could be a serious safety hazard (and the ipod control is 'taken over' by the HL when you plug it in the usb port anyway). considering a head unit that allows me to do this, but only as a last resort (don't want to lose stock controls/steering controls/etc)... for those with ipod experiences w the '11 HL, pls. share.

Assuming your podcasts are regular MP3s, you can fast forward through them by pressing and holding the up or down button on the left side of the radio. Unfortunately, you can't do it with the steering wheel controls, but the left side of the radio is easy to reach while driving.

D'oh!
Went outside this morning and tried the long press while parked...and sure enough, I was in business. Did this before while driving, and when the unit didn't respond to my short button press, figured that it was not functional.

This is why TN is in my regular internet 'rotation'...thanks!

Now I will have to find another excuse to spend money on a touchscreen head unit...foiled again
