New to forum. What should I expect to pay

I just clicked on the thread below on what others paid but there is only one current post and that was for the SE. I went to the dealer on Thursday and spent 2 hours test driving and looking at the Highlander. When it came down to negotiations I ended up leaving. I want a limited with navigation. She told me they would take 1500 off sticker price and after all additional costs I was at a selling price of $38k. I told her it was way too high. I plan to lease and the lease prices were way too high as well. I had looked at the pilot a week before and they were going to take $4k off sticker for a pilot with the same options and lease to me for $350down and $499/month for a 36 month lease. Toyota Dealer wouldn't even come close...wanted at least $750 down with a lease payment of 578/month for a 48 month lease. I was shocked. They said they may be able to do better this Wednesday when the new Toyota deals come out. I just think they are way overpriced. Isn't invoice for the limited with nav like $33k? Am I crazy?

Try www.truecar.com to find pricing info. You might have better luck at a different dealer.

I checked true car and it looks like they are selling for about $36k for a limited.

Got mine for $36,800 before rebate(limited with jbl nav, tow and floor/cargo mats, roof bars). Remember to add floor mat package and tow package when building. True shows 37,500 without crosss bars for that.

Thanks for the reply. It's good to know what others paid. I figure everyone here did there homework before buying so it's good info to get.

Couple of months ago, they had huge discounts but now it seems to be over. It might be related to what happened in Japan. Honda seems to be the same way. Right now, depending on where you are, the price you are looking at would be about $36,5K for FWD limited with NAV and about $38K for AWD, plus tax, tag etc. So I would say the price they gave you is normal for now. If you don't need to buy it right away, it might be wise to hold off for a little while.

Last year I purchased a 2wd limited with NAV for $34K out the door.

Just to throw in my 2 cents on this, since you are looking to lease.
I got mine Christmas Eve, well that was when I picked it up.
2011 SE 4x4 with mudflaps, all season mats, cross bars, tow package, remote start, pretty much everything but NAV.
No money down, they paid my last payment on my previous lease, $493 a month on a 36 month lease.

Not the best deal out there, but not bad for a lease.

They knocked $3,565 off sticker on my 2011 SE at the end of last year without much effort. Ended up between Invoice and TMV ($32,580) with both type matts and tow prep .

Back in March, I got my 2011 4wd limited w/out nav (with floormats, jbl, crossbars, tow package, etc..) for about $35.5k, paid about $200 over invoice.
