Canada Adjust volume of door lock activated

When one locks the HL with the remote there is a bit of a beep and the lights flash.. Is the volume of that "bit" adjustable? I find it hard to hear when I lock the vehicle and would like something a bit more definitive.. The unlock volume is just as bad.. but in that case I am usually heading towards the car and expect it to be unlocked.

Thanks for your time.

Check out the Customizable Electronic Features link in the Mods & Maint. sticky for more information, but I don't think the volume is adjustable on that.

You can have toyota turn it off or on, but there is no volume control on it. The actual "beeper" is inside the tailgate which does make it difficult to hear sometimes.

Hey Ralph, do you have a third pary remote starter installed in your car. The beep sound is much more audible on my remote starter than on my key fob. I had it installed here in town (Ralcomm). I live just an hour south of Edmonton. Or you can head off to your local car shop and see if they can hook up the horn to the remote "beep" that way you will surely know if it is locked/unlocked.

Thanks all
The idea of adding it to the car horn is a thought.. Probably pretty hard to connect though. If the "beeper" is in the tail gate.. perhaps a bigger beeper would be an option to consider as well.

I can confirm there's no volume control, just on and off, but there are other Toyota models out there that can have the volume adjusted. However, they all come from the factory with the default setting of "Max"
