when to buy?

It's time to let my 2001 Outback go and I'm considering a 2011 Highlander. Something that one dealer told me today concerned me, and it wasn't even the Toyota dealer. Honda had 0.9% financing over Memorial Day and so that made me wonder, will Toyota have any sales this summer (July 4, Labor Day, etc)? I've been waiting to get a new car for years now and a few more months won't matter. From some other threads on here, I've read that prices are going up, so I'm torn. I want to get a good deal, but I will be financing a large part of this vehicle.

Thoughts?

I am in the same boat. However this month Toyota has 0% for 36 months. It hasn't been around for awhile. I am going to risk a few more months because looking at the prices paid thread, I see people who bought the SE for 33-34k OTD and now I can't get it for lower than $38 OTD. Almost a 5k difference in price.

You're getting a regional deal with 0% financing, in the gulf states we are only getting $500 back for June (still better than May, which had no incentives).

But just in the last week I have felt that the dealers are more willing to move on price compared to when I was looking in mid-May. I think their awful May sales numbers woke a few people up.

The prices went up signifcantly compared to what it was 2-3 months ago. You can also see the same thing on Honda's. I don't think it is a good time to buy now.

It's always a gamble when you play the price/wait/financing deals.

It's hard to predict especially in this state of affairs.
