xm nav/traffic

Picked up my 2011 limited with nav/traffic and just spent an hour and a half on the phone with xm, closing out my sirius account and checking prices on xm. As usual, they are offering 1/2 off after the 3 month trial, but, when i asked what traffic would cost she said:
1. They not only don't discount the monthly traffic fee, but if you want it, they can only give it to you if you pay full price for the radio portion.
2. On her computer, my radio doesn't show up as even having nav/traffic (i told her that not only was i looking at the sticker, but that i had seen the 3 cars on the nav. screen so i know it has it!)

Does anyone have any experience with this?
thanks.

I don't have nav or traffic on my radio but I am intrigued that they offered you half off after the trial. I wonder if that was because you were transitioning from being a Sirius customer so you technically were a current customer.

When I called XM about a month into my trial and asked about discounts, they offered me....nothing beyond about $10 off a year's subscription. I tried real hard. So I told them fine, I'm outa here. The regular price, even for the limited packages, is not worth it to me. They were good with that.

Then about a week ago I got a letter reminding me that my trial is about to expire and offering me the regular prices again so I called them. No deals. So I once again said, OK, bye. As I was about to hang up, they looked harder and said they could give me all channels for 5 months for $22 total and I took it. Now that I'm a paying customer, it will be interesting to see what happens in 5 months

If you think about it, their operating and distribution costs are fixed and it costs them zero to add a customer, so ANYTHING they get from me is profit. I guess it is a game of chicken to find the magic price that keeps us subscribed. The magic word looks to be "CANCEL".

never tried the traffic here since all reviews say how bad it is. I only use the xm if I get the discount on service, besides the decent talk programming the music selection is very repetitive no where near full price imo.
