I don't have nav or traffic on my radio but I am intrigued that they offered you half off after the trial. I wonder if that was because you were transitioning from being a Sirius customer so you technically were a current customer.
When I called XM about a month into my trial and asked about discounts, they offered me....nothing beyond about $10 off a year's subscription. I tried real hard. So I told them fine, I'm outa here. The regular price, even for the limited packages, is not worth it to me. They were good with that.
Then about a week ago I got a letter reminding me that my trial is about to expire and offering me the regular prices again so I called them. No deals. So I once again said, OK, bye. As I was about to hang up, they looked harder and said they could give me all channels for 5 months for $22 total and I took it. Now that I'm a paying customer, it will be interesting to see what happens in 5 months
If you think about it, their operating and distribution costs are fixed and it costs them zero to add a customer, so ANYTHING they get from me is profit. I guess it is a game of chicken to find the magic price that keeps us subscribed. The magic word looks to be "CANCEL".
