No Max Blower Speed

I have a 2008 2wd Highlander and the A/C max blower speed no longer works. There is no difference between high and max. I recently rented one and it blew me out of the front seat.. Mine takes 20 minutes to cool off the car on a hot day. What little I could find may point to a MAX Relay. How can I find it? Could there be a bad fuse?

Thanks,.

I might be wrong, but A/C max for me is A/C + recirculate... I've never found Highlanders (or any Toyota) to cool off to quickly on a hot day..

Mine does. On Max A/C it cools off very well within 5 minutes in 100+ degree heat.

I'd start with making sure the cabin filter is clean

9Volt - You are a genius!

Funny thing is, I have had that filter replaced since I took it to the dealer last fall (they were not able to find the problem). The Quick-lube place SAID they replaced that filter in February...; and charged me for it. I pulled it out and I could hear the increase in fan output. Now off to the parts place...

A COOL Thank You,

REB

Not wanting to rain on the parade, but even with a clogged filter there will be a *difference* in air flow between ALL fan settings. Granted, at all fan speeds the air flow would be lower than with a clean filter. And, if there is no change in fan speed (pitch) between max and one click down, then there is an electrical problem. Alas, I don't have '08 electricals to look at...

Totally agree. Here in Ohio we have had several 90+ degree days. My A/C always works really fast.

My '08 A/C works very well, even with the 3 weeks of 100 ~ 107 weather we've had. Performs much better than my '02 HL A/C.

My 08 had the same problem, but couldn't be duplicated when I would take it to the dealer. It would go from max a/c to slower speed and then back. Dealer couldn't make it do it, so I told them that it sounded like the blower motor was going bad, because when sitting in a parking lot, waiting for my wife, it did it and I heard a strange rumble. They finally replaced it under warranty and the new one works great.
