Phillips LED DRL

Took about an hour to install but didnt take pics of the install. 3 wires, power\ground and a wire to tap parking lights. Came with a module that dim the DRLs when parking lights come on.

Is it a one-size-fits-all or specific to a model?

One size fits all. It came with brackets. Once the bracket is installed the LED unit clips in from the back.

Amazon/Ebay... sometimes have these but they are expensive($200-250).

You can get similar equivalents on ebay for considerably less.

Like the fog lights, they are pretty much useless if your headlights are working properly.

I have a 27-watt set(54w total) that is usable but aggravates oncoming traffic at night. I removed them and plan on house mounting them under the gutters/soffit to light the driveway via battery/solar panel or switched 12v wallwart.
You can get away with the lower wattage DRL LEDs since they aren't really annoying to oncoming traffic.

Since they are DRL's, how about a daytime picture?

I originally purchased one of the inexpensive sets on ebay but returned them. Bad quality ie Plastic housings vs metal housing on the Phillips. Guess I shouldnt have expected too much for $35 LED DRLs

The Phillips automatically dim when the parking lights come on. I will have to take some pictures over the weekend. Here is the Daylight 4 LED model to give an idea of what it looks like in the daytime:

Philips DRL

dlee929,
Your appliocation of the Philips DRL look svery good and proffessional.

I work for Philips Automotive Lighting and I am responsible for all DRL in North America. Could I get some pictures of your vehicle so I could post them on different sites like our FB page? I would also like to use some of your text. I like the fact that you at first purchsed a less expensive set and then went to Philips. We do make very high quality premium products like the DRL8 and DRL4.
The DRL8 can be purchased from Amazon right now for $157 and $92 for the DRL4 with possible free shipping.

Please contact me with any questions. I know the DRL very well.

How's your Phillips DRL? Do you have any problem like some LED are not lighting up. I'm leaning to get the four LED for my 2010 HL.

Toanswer your question about LED not lighting Philips does not make any such products that fail like you mentioned. We use automotive grade LED just like the same LED we use for Mercedes and Audi production vehicles. We have also been on a Baja 500 race truck and will be on multiple trucks for the Baja 1,000. The 1,000 is the most demanding race in the world and to be able to say we are Baja proven is huge.

Please contact me by PM with any questions.

Cheers

We have looked into the motocycle applications for both looks and safety. The DRL4 would probably be a better choice. Depending on the bike, on top of the front fender is a good place.
Go to our Facebook page and enter one of our contests. We have been giving away lights. http://www.facebook.com/PhilipsAutomotiveLighting

Please send me pictures if you do this install. We want to use them on FB and other media.
