2009 highlander drivers side front window damage

The window made an unusual noise, pulled the door panel off and found the front clip that hold the window to the regulator broken. The clip is glued to the window then one bolt to the regulator. Now here is the problem...no one will sell just the clip and let me glue it on you have to buy the complete piece of glass and it comes with the plastic clips. dealer quote 280.00 for the window and safelite is around 225.00. Is this a common problem with the highlanders? ...thoughts?...

I may have the same problem

My 2009 Highlander driver side window made a crunching sound while I was at the beach on 08/22/2011. The window was open approximately 2 inches and when I went to close it, it sounded like the window broke internally. I did manage to get it closed and will attempt to repair it after Hurricane Irene leaves the NC area. I will post an update when I find out what happened to mine.

If your Highlander is 2009 this should be still covered under the 3-yr / 36k miles "bumper-to-bumper" warranty. Even if your car is over 36k miles I would give try to get this thing fixed under warranty - Toyota is pretty flexible with their warranty terms (know it from personal experience).

I did have the same problem. Dealer replaced the window under warranty.

It took 2 hrs 50 min and the 'techie' said it would have been an approx $600 repair if not for the warranty.
