It was sad to see if go but I know for a fact that I replaced it with a GREAT CAR. So far I am liking it very much as it has good amount of space and all the features I need (got the SE model with Navi).
Anyways, since I am leasing it, I didn't want to make TOO many changes. One thing that I feel like I really want to change are the headlights to HID. I did some research online and found that everyone is recommending the DDM ones. I bought some online the other day but once it arrives, I am not too confident on installing it. Can someone please help? Also, would it affect the automatic lights or daytime running lights at all? I only got the low beams because I rarely use the highbeams throughout all these years of driving.
I also did some research on this forum but didn't come across on how to DIY on installing. Other than that, what other things are you guys changing out? Sorry for the long post and I love this forum!!!

to the forum!
-I've used DDM tuning for a few years now, and never had any major issues (1 or 2 issues with their 55 watt ballasts though

) with reliability or durability so good choice with the brand. Plus if they go out, they are cheaper than anybody else to replace .
-As for the auto lights and DRL's you don't need to worry about it. I'm pretty sure the 2011 DRL's are on the high beam bulb so it won't effect your HID in any way. Installing HID do not effect auto lights either.
-What kit did you get for your low beam? I'm assuming H11 kit, but what color (doesn't effect install, I'm just curious

), wattage, and did you get a wireharness (important depending on wattage of kit.)
-HID's are not very good in high beam locations as you loose the ability to "flash" somebody since they take awhile to warm up, so it's probably better to keep the halogens in there like you did.
-Unfortunately, I do not know what the back of the 2011 highlander headlight housing looks like so I can't help you with the install. If you took a picture of the back from the engine bay and posted it I could probably walk you through it. It is usually plug and play, but sometimes with projectors you have to drill through the back of the housing to route the wires through the waterproof housing and use DDM's rubber grommet to seal the hole. Then if you have a wireharness you have to get that hooked up to the battery etc etc. I can explain that more if you have it in your kit or not.
-Here is DDM's install guide for the H11 (I don't know if you knew they have this or not. It will walk you through a generic install: (

-As for other modifications, there are a lot (the modification sticky has a lot of them), but I have never leased a car so I do not know how much you can actually modify before getting the dealership angry. But as for things I've done: all LED interior bulbs, hid fog and headlight projector retrofit, hid projectors behind the grill, 2x 6x9's and 8" sub extra speakers in the trunk, and a few more things. I'm never done modifying it
