iPod into JBL/Navi Unit

Just got a 2012 HL Limited with the JBL/Navi option. My phone is iPhone 4. I got it set up for BT streaming this morning. That works ok, but no metadata is passed over BT, so no artist, playlist, etc. I know I can get metadata over USB by plugging the iPhone 4 into the USB jack on the front, but I'm not crazy about the cable hanging out in front of the shift lever.

I have an extra iPod Touch around that I no longer use much. What I would really like to do is set up the iPod in the glove box and leave it there, as a dedicated music player. For those of you familiar with the JBL head unit, does it have a jack for plugging in the Toyota iPod cable kit part PT545-00082-CK shown here:

Does anyone know where I can read up on the real manual for the JBL unit (not the Toyota HL owner's manual)? Thanks.

Hey there. I'm going to PM you the instruction manual for that kit on how to install it. FYI it replaces satellite radio on the head unit, so if you get this kit you will replace that.
That link you posted looks like the cable only, I think you have to have the control box that comes with the main kit as well. In other words you would need this (http://www.brandsport.com/toy-pt545-00082.html)
hope this helps.
