Just checking if anyone change out the OEM front side markers, bulb 3457A, to Led?? I tried replacing mine with 3157 (dual colors) which i was told was a match, they wouldnt fit the socket, to shorten this story I eventually ended up with two blown fuses (parking lights and haz) and a bit of a pain trying to get the replacement fuses!!
So if anyone successfully replace these with LEDs could you tell me the bulb number?!?

I changed the parking lights. The bulb is a 194 wedge base. I put in SilverStars which are an Amber color, gives it the "clear corner" look.
If we are talking about the same parking lights then you should be able to just put in any 194 wedge base bulb. I've put LED bulbs on other cars but they didn't last but a few months so I stopped doing that and switched back to incandescent.
the 08-10 have a parking light, the 11 use its turn signal as the parking light it looks like. Are you sure you got the right bulb (wrong bulb in 3157 packaging)? Its basically an amber brake light bulb so its fairly large, well huge compared to the 168's. Do the pins and base of the LED match the OE bulb?
Also when it comes to LED's turn signals, you might get the hyper flasher because the flasher relay is looking for a higher load than an LED uses, you might need a resistor, just an FYI.

Well i contacted the supplier and he said the same, basically i may need a oad resistor for it to work properly. Aside that tho the bulbs looked identical, when i tried to install the aftermarket bulb it was very difficult to fit into the socket, this was the first sign that something was wrong!
that's weird that its identical but won't fit well. Only thing I can think of is a lot of LED's are affected by polarity, maybe switching the bulb's orientation would make it work, but you had probably already done that. So besides that, all i can think of is bulb malfunction. You could test it by touching the leads with a 12v source though.
As for the resistors, the relay that is used for the turn signal will look for a filament bulb load, so when you cut that load to a very small amount, the turn signal rate is going to skyrocket most likely. A simple low power resistor would fix that. So if you get them working and run into this problem, radioshack should have simple resistors.

Acutally i haven't tried switching the polarity and i'm thinking that could very well be the source of my problem. I dont want to blow anymore fuses because these seem to be only available at the dealer (they are like micro fuses!). Anyway i'll use my multimeter and test to see which way the bulb power up and likewise test the socket!
That should do it thanks again sweeneyp
