0% vs. $1,000 cash back

Still can't make up my mind. I'm thinking about '11 Limited or the '12 SE. Your thoughts on that?

Also, if I go with the '11, which is better: 0% vs. $1,000 back?

Thanks!

You'll get a better deal on the 2011, and given the 2012 is virtually identical you'd be holding out for nothing. Wait till the end of any given month when dealers are trying to get rid of inventory and not be penalized for vehicles still on their lots, because you can often work out at cost or below cost deals then. As for financing I can't offer advice as I always pay in cash. Hopefully some of our other members will have financing and purchasing advice for you as well....good luck!

Motley Fool calculators can answer this question:

Which is better: a rebate or special dealer financing?

I didn't know how to answer a couple of the rows on that calculator, but it showed the lower interest rate to be better. thanks

If.. you are going to finance the bulk AND intend to finance over a long period the the "0" percent is likely the better option. Free financing seldom takes into account that your 2011 dollar will be worth less in 3 years time due to inflation or that you will be making more money. In both cases it means the payments hurt less.. thus a benefit for you.
