Hmmmmm, that's a tough one. Either put seats in big plastic bags or, put kids in big plastic bags. If you go with the kids option be sure to put big holes in bags so they get plenty of air.
Well, ......then there's the thought,.........never hug anything that can't hug you back, or..................in the world of Antiques Road Show, the concept of highly valued things with the quality of a "distress" appearance. Of course kids have been known to push the "distress" quality further to an appearance known as "annihilated".
Leather master makes a protectant. I have not used it though. I have a nano protectant from europe that seals the leather, but they can't sell it in the U.S. yet.
I use their Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. Works great.

If I'm not mistaken, the only parts which are actual leather are the center sections of the front seats. The sides/back of the front seat as well as the entire 2nd and 3rd row seats are vinyl (or so I'm told). That being said, Lexol makes great leather products. I'm currently using Wolfgang for vinyl and I'm pleased so far.

I am not sure that's accurate. It should be leather all over. The side of the seats wrinkle up so easily, it wouldn't if it was vinyl. Then again I wish it was vinyl. I hate those wrinkles.
as for cleaning and conditioning, I use Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner
I have a 2010 Sport. For the first two rows, only the top is leather. The sides and back are not leather. The third row is not leather.
There are two types of cleaners:
- One step (cleaner and conditioner)
- Two step (use a cleaner first and conditioner second)
I have used the Lexol cleaner and conditioner which is my favourite.
I tried the Einszett cleaner and some of the dye started coming off from the seat sides.
I have also used the Auto Glym conditioner which is not bad, feels a bit greasy initially.
At the end of the day if the leather is very dirty, use the 2 step of your choice. If you just want to dress up the leather then the single stage products are good.
Hope this helps.

When you say side, it is not the top side right, it is the side where you have the seat controllers. I am sure my 2nd row top is also leather. I am not sure about the third row. It might be vinyl.
Correct - the texture of the material is different.

Actually, according to leather people, using "leather" conditioner for cars is a misnomer, since the leather used in *most* interiors is topcoated (think a coat of latex paint). Unlike shoes or furniture where the grain is exposed (Aniline), none of your elixers touch the actual leather, nor does it do anything to preserve the leather itself. It *might" make the topcoat last a bit longer, but manufacturers are silent on that.
Mostly, the stuff on the market appears to be a cleaner that won't remove the topcoat, and leaves a shiny film for your butt to slide on.
Topcoated leather will eventually crack, and there apparently isn't much you can do about pospotning that, short of tinting windows, parking out of the sun, garaging your car and the like to keep the underlying leather from drying out.

Me too! I thought it was just me. It seems everyone elses leather seats are smooth and mine always have creases. My 2001 Limited had wrinkles and now my '11 SE seems to have wrinkles on the sides. I'm always concerned that the seat will eventually tear at those wrinkles.
Most of the Lexus seats I've seen are smooth and taut.

The problem is you have to put your weight on the side especially when you are getting out of the vehicle due to the fact that it sits high. Unfortunately, HL seat doesnt have enough support on the side thats why it wrinkles so easily. My cousin has VW Tiguan, and his seats are much better. I am paying crazy attention and yet I have more wrinkles on my seat. He doesnt even care.
