Does AWD drive differently than FWD?

Test drove the "12 AWD. Found an "11 FWD as well. While driving, will the AWD "feel" different from FWD?

Under normal weather conditions shouldn't be much difference. AWD will show it's advantages on slippery roads.

Where you live makes a difference.

If you live in winter rain/snow country the AWD version is a benefit

if you live in a flat sunny area all year round FWD works well for you.

Speaking strictly of "feel," I'd say it's most noticeable when accelerating from a stop in regard to how the vehicle moves compared to a FWD, which is a more even, sure-footed motion especially when accelerating in a turn or on slippery surfaces. At speed, like lucky777 said, AWD feels and is more sure-footed than AWD. IMO.
