Side mirror lights - any way to increase the turn off delay?

After replacing the puddle lights with LEDs, I noticed that the duration of them being on after "unlock" is quite short (at least it feels shorter than incandescent ones).

Is there any way to increase that duration - meaning once you pressed unlock, the light to stay longer?

I suspect that LEDs are more sensitive to the voltage drop, i.e. they completely turn off much sooner in that dimming-off sequence comparing to the standard bulbs.

Will a large capacitor plugged in parallel to the LEDs help (by keep some charge after the power is gone for maybe few seconds)?
