Recently purchased an 09 Highlander Limited (and loving it!) it's in White Pearl.
I recently purchased the AVS Bug Deflector in black but I'm not sure it's looks nice. I'm debating if I should purchase the clear. It could be because I'm not used to it -- so those of you with the white HL would you suggest the Black or the Clear?
I have '08 HL same color as yours, and I have black AVS bug shield just like yours - and I love it. The black bugshield actually makes HL look different.
The only other choice I may consider is chrome, but that's way too much bling
transparent one will look dirty all the time, and will turn yellow in couple of years

What I did with my truck was get the clear bug deflector and vent visors, and painted them same color as the truck on the back sides. Looks like the factory put them on.
I got the OE color in a spray can from tower paint .com
They'll match any color.

Is there a difference between a 2010 HL and a 2011 HL?
MD
Sure, i am assuming you are not an owner, do some research there are quite a number of updates on the 2011 +, but for the most part the engine and chassis are unchanged
I have smoke on my black HL, and think it looks sleek because it blends in. More than that, it serves a practical purpose. However, I'm not sure I would like the deflector to "stand out" from the rest of the car, and therefore, if I had a different color, I would likely buy a clear and paint the backside to match the vehicle color. I would not however, keep it clear....have seen quite a few and they just don't work for me.

Here is smoke vs clear. The one with the clear is mine. I would never get a smoke on white and I wouldn't paint the clear to white either. You can hardly see there is a deflector on the car. You wont if you are not paying attention. To me clear is a no brainer. I agree that it might go yellow at some point but only if you park your HL outdoors under direct sun light. And even if it does, you can always get a replacement.
