Aftermarket Rosen In-Dash GPS For Highlander

Does anyone else have any experience with the Rosen In-Dash Entertainment/GPS system for Toyota Highlander?

I had mine installed before I picked up the Highlander from the dealer last year and I have had great results. The Rosen model is a perfect form-fit-function Entertainment System which includes radio, CD, Bluetooth, DVD, and GPS.

The unit was pricey ($1300), and probably not worth the expense, but the in-dash look was something that really like the look and function.

Here is how it looks in the dash.

How is that unit working for you?

It looks like it can also play DVDs which is what I would like to get.

If you buy one of these do you still need to buy the override box?
Or are you able to perform Nav functions while you are driving and watch DVDs?

There are some on EBay right now.

I have got to think that anything would be better the Nanny Toyo POS. But reading the instructions and descriptions, it is not clear to me if map updates are available or what they would cost. The other concern is that if you have a Hybrid, I doubt all the other functions for the Hybrid system would be supported - at least the documentation mentions nothing about that.

What 'other functions for the Hybrid system' are you referring to?

i hate new car dashs because it looks ugly if you get like a double din with the dash kit.

Agreed. They do this on purpose i think so you are more likely to dish out 2K for a built-in navi vs trying a double-din aftermarket for $600
