2010 vs 2011 style

2011 highlander look diferent from 2010 highlander.

I like 2010 fron and rear painted bumper . hate 2011 no painted bumper even on limited mode. especil look from rear side, look like wear the diaper. the project head light is good but no hid option.

Ditto.

Be interesting to see what the Gen 3 models look like when they come out in 2014.

Agreed - me buy black to not have big notice of painted bumpers. New headlight looks mean like angry SUV but horn chirp like birdie

am thinking of having that black skirt painted on mine, do they need to be taken out or newspaper and tape is enough? 4 spray cans of paint and some primer from canadian tire should be good can somebody here please post a photoshopped picture of an 11 HL with color coded skirt?

The plastic "skirt" is textured so I would not recommend simply taping it off and spraying. To do it correctly, I would remove it, sand smooth, prime and then have it painted professionally with a little flex addative. The plastic will expand & contract at a different rate than the body panels and without flex agent in the paint it will crack & look like crap. (just my $0.02)

I like the 2nd gen styling better. don't care to much for the protruding headlights especially the ones on the 4-runner.

I wouldn't buy the new HL because they're fugly. Toyota always takes a good initial design, i.e. 2001 Solara and changes it when they 'refresh' the look.

If they wanted to refresh the 2011 HL, ask owners of previous models what they wanted, i.e. split 3rd row, HID option, louder horn, etc and make those changes. Don't add mismatched trim pieces, silver colored bezels around the foglights, protruding headlights, gaudy grill, etc. KISS.

a little bit off topic. but the only real good upgrades they have done to their cars are in the rav4. i really like where it started from and ended

I love the looks of my '10. Don't much care for the '11. If I was buying one year later, based on looks alone, I'd be all over the new Durango. The front is just so sinister looking.

When I bought my 2010 Highlander limited, I waited until the 2011 show up on the dealer, me and my wife look at both and she don't like it. The bottom part are not painted, seems like the body look smaller or like Ford SUV. Only thing I like are the third row seat, projection headlight which you can put coffee cup, soda can or beer bottlle, thats why I retrofit my headlight with Morimoto D2S.
