09 Highlander inner CV joint removal

My uncle got a 09 highlander, saalvage title. All fixed worked good.. for a while. The front driver wheel started to make noises. Looks like the bearing on the inner CV joint is bad due to the damage from the crash. How do we pull the inner CV joint out? Did lots of searching but the car is so new, no one had the issue yet. Please help me help him. Thank you.

The inner cv joint is held in with a retaining clip on the inner tip of the shaft .

It should pop out with a large pry bar prying it out while tapping on it also. don't pry to hard against any castings that could crack
