One eye bolt, installs on L or R side when you remove the little cover on front bumper. This is for the 2009. I imagine it is the same on newer Toyotas.

only one? There are two eye bolts in my last car(vw jetta), how to tow my car if only one eye bolt. I think have to buy the other one for emergency.(stock in snow etc.)

Toyota Highlanders are better designed and only need "one". The eye bolt is there to pull you out of a stuck condition, use the side that will give the most advantage. Towing while using the eye bolt is probably illegal in most parts of the country.
I purchased a second to use for tie-offs when carrying my kayaks.

Probably price. I paid like $15.00. If I could have gotten one off a wreck or e-bay I was hpoing to spend $5.00.

*Ding*...*Ding*...*Ding*......Becks is the winner! Dealerships are always a price issue, and under pain of death do I ever buy items from the dealer.
I strong agree. I regret to intall alarm in dealer when I buy the highlander, cause I paid $500, for that price I can get better alarm system maybe include remote start in best buy.
