So after installing HID's in my fogs and realizing that it started to melt the plastic( but it didnt melt through), i bought a glass replacement fog light which said it would mount up like oem but when i went to install it i realized my original fog lights are mounted completly different the after market one had 4 screws but there was no where screw it into. after being very fustrated because it couldnt just swap them, i ended up dropping the aftermarket one by accident breaking the glass there goes returning them.
i ended up just replacing the 2504 bulb with leds and buying the piaa's
The Piaa's came with its own harness which has a switch, i just cut the switch off and tapped it into my fog light so it comes on with my led fog lights.
wow... won't you get into trouble for having 3 pairs of headlights on? Here in Ontario I think they allow only 2 pairs.. DRLs are always on
Your not suppose to have 3 sets on at the same time, but I did for 8 months and never got pulled over. As long as you don't blind cops(glare everywhere, or have those like 7" off-road lamps) they usually won't pull you over, or at least here in the south haha.
Are the 2011 fog housing really small compared to the 08-10 (depth wise) (that would explain the lower wattage halogen it comes with)? That's weird it was melting the housing. The way you described the 4 screw mounting points on the aftermarket fog housing, sounds like you got a 08-10 one. Did it have 2 on each side, the inner side a little farther ahead of the outer one? But that does look pretty good with all those lights + the bull bar

i dont know if it is illegal...but w/e my original fog have the leds so it just looks nice as you know leds dont really give you the output as halogen or HIDS..depth wise yes its very shallow but my hid wasnt touching the lens it was just the same length as the halogen..but then again the haolgen was low wattage...yes the aftermarket one had 4 screws just as u described it..but they said it was for the 2011 but w/e i broke the damn thing.
thanks bro right now i have the extreme white h3 bulb in the piaa it alright but i might upgrade to the piaa plasma GT-X
I talked my wife into a "Highlander" that did not have stock fog lamps. I forced the dealer to add fog lamps but they did not install stock, they installed PIAA 510's screwed into to bumper, in front of the stock mounting positions. Now, both lenses of the 510's have broken, bulbs blown. I am trying to find a source for the lamp assembly (lens, lamp holder/reflector, and bulb). So far no luck without replacing the bezels for both, entirely. Any suggestions for a source for all but the metal bezel? Thanks, TRL
sweenyp, Yes, they bolted the lamps (drilled) into the bumper, just forward of the stock mounting holes for the stock fog lamps. Thanks to your lead to Amazon, I contacted paceperformance. After some discussion, they said to contact PIAA customer service, directly. I did and PIAA is sending out the lens assemblies, under warranty, after I sent them pictures showing the cracks with no chips from stone damage. Thanks again. trl
