Hands-free phone question

Hi All,
Just got my new-to-me 2011 Highlander on Saturday and am loving it. Now I am trying to figure out all the bells and whistles. I have figured out how to place a call by name using the bluetooth, hands-free phone function. I do have a question though...can anyone tell me how to place a call where a machine answers and requests my parties extension? That is, can you place a call to an extension hands-free? Any info would be appreciated. TIA
Jim

I have a '11 SE that I use with an iPhone4S. You will have to use your phone's keyboard. You have the same problem if your call is answered by voicemail and you need to navigate a menu. No way to submit extra numbers via the voice once the call is answered - that I know of.

Thanks jgayman. I was afraid of that. Kinda does away with the benefit of "hands-free". I thought maybe you could include the extension with the number after a # (pound) sign or something like that. Thanks again.

You should be able to program a number.. a pause.. and then an extension. Works on my cell to call work.. Read the manual on your cell phone, if it works there you should also be able to use the same sequence in the phonebook bluetooth uses..

That's worth a try. I never tried that with mine. That is, when you know the sequence ahead of time. My problem is getting voicemail or the switchboard unintentionally and then not being able to proceed hands-free and needing to pick up the phone to access the keypad.

Thanks Ralph6410...I will try to find my cell phone manual and find out if my phone is capable of this. I just need it for my wife's work extension, which would only have to programmed once. Thanks again.

I have this same problem at times. All I do is press the 'command' button on the steering wheel (the 'talking head'), say the numbers I want then press the 'off hook' button. I do this when trying to get to a specific extension but imagine it would work in navigating a menu system as well.

This is with an '11 Limited no-nav and using a LG Rumor Touch phone.
