Disable power tailgate beep

Is there a way to disable the beep when you activate the power tailgate? It's probably meant to be useful when you activate it from within the car so people that might be behind your vehicle know something is happening (before they get bonked by the rising gate). But it's also pretty loud and unnecessary if you're activating it yourself while at the gate. Sure, I could simply manually pull the gate down and bypass the power lower function, but it's easier pushing the button if you have groceries in your hand.

I believe it can be deactivated by Techstream, the computer the technicians use at all the Toyota dealerships. I've never done one myself, but I'm assuming that if the Lock/Unlock beeps can be disabled, so can the rear tailgate beep.

Was the dealership able to deactivate it or turn it down? I just bought a 2012 and it is annoying. I know it is a safety feature but I'd like it off so I don't drive my neighbours nuts coming and going to work in the early AM!

Haven't taken the Highlander in for the first check yet, but I'm going to ask them to turn off/down the buzzer when I do. We'll see if they're able to.
