I'm trying to put HID's on my foglights of my 2012 Highlander , but NOBODY has the bulb 2504, which is what is in the factory foglight. Has anybody found a solution or a comparable bulb that fits in the factory housing?
Please post pictures if u have them
Yea, the new fog's bulb is kinda a tricky situation on the 2011+ models. A few dodges use that size bulb as well. From what I understand someone got an H11 bulb to fit in the housing in the thread linked below (last page). 2011 Highlander Limited White Headlight Bulbs Needed
But I've read online people have used H10 and H16 bulbs that fit in the housing too. Apparently 2504 is a harness number and not a bulb number from what I understand...at anyrate if you change bulb types, your going to have to make a new harness to get the power to them.
If you do get 1 of those bulbs to fit, I'd be worried about heat. the stock bulb is somewhere around 30 watts, while those bulbs are 55 watts, could be too much for the housing.

Thanks gtzany, did they match or did you have to rewire? I'm also wanting to get HIDs and leds inside. How is your 8k working out? I'm thinking 6k, but unsure which is the better kit. Did you have any trouble installing the HIDs?
just an fyi, I would not go above 6k for HIDs, your losing a lot of use able light going to 8k. Just for reference OEM is 4300k, white is 5k. The more you stray from 4300k (brightest output possible) and 5k the more lumens/output you lose.

no problem joe, no they were a perfect fit, as for hids i do have 8k nd they are fine i get alot of light, but i am thinking about going 6k just cuz i want more output. i did have led throughout the cabin but it ended up being soooo damn bright...so i have a led board in the trunk light and it lights up the whole interior....ill post some pics later so u can see
The OEM bulb is a 2504 which I found out first hand today, that a H8 bulb will fit! Without any issues at all I installed fog light HIDs in about an hour. I purchased 6000K 35W bulbs which are OMG amazing. The low & high beams are in the mail, can't wait to get thm all hooked up

The title of your reply says from 2008 - 2012 Highlander fog lights but the bulb type and design changed in 2011 to the 2504. What year is your vehicle as I looked at the H8 bulb and cannot see anyway that it would fit into a 2011 and later Highlander without major work.
You may be right, but I have a 2012 with an OEM bulb of 2504. The bulb crossed reference to an H8 bulb, after receiving them it took me 45 min to install WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS Trust me the H8 will be the key to all your questions.
