Toyota's Recommended PSI for 17" tire/wheel setup?

Hey all,

For all the highlander owners with the 17" tire setup (my limited came with 19"s but runnign 17" for winter) - what is the recommended tire PSI?

P245/65R17 = ?? PSI

Thanks for your help

I run 32 on everything! 14s, 17's, 19's. The tire still has to support the same weight regardless of the size of the wheel.

Yes - but due to sidewall support etc, the PSI will be different.

i.e. on my BMW M3, the 19" setup requires 33psi. Whereas the 17" winter setup requires 37psi.

So - looking for the Toyota recommendation on the stock 17" tire size. My limited only lists the recommended psi for the 19" setup on the door jam sticker

It really doesnt matter! What matters is the MAX load the tire can handle, and yes this will require a different PSI based on the tire size. I assume you arent placing these tires anywhere near their max load, so run them at whatever pressure you want not exceeding the max, and youll be fine.

Anyway look in the manual, it list the tire sizes, and recommended pressures for all size tires that came on that vehicle! It should also be located on the inside of the drivers door jamb.

Similar situation for me (I have the Sports package - same wheel/tire combo as the Ltd). I'm running 35psi on my 17" snowtires.

FYI, I ran the 19" at 35psi as well..... just trying to squeeze a few more MPGs out of the tank.

Cheers

I've got 43,000 now on my OEM Duelers with even wear and tires kept at 35 PSI.

The perfect pressure could get very complicated to figure out and would vary with speed tire design and temperature. 35 seems a good compromise between too hard and economy.

I like a stiffer ride so I usually keep my tires between 35 and 37 PSI. I wouldn't go below 32 so you won't accidentally hit the TPMS sensor threshold.
